Battle between good and bad
Just wrote this reply to a local Cleveland CTO of a mobile-based development house on why having a company web site – was important:
“I disagree with your assessment of the importance of a web site. What I really mean to say is that its important to have a “web presence.”
That’s more than just a web site.
Its a blog.
It’s a constant feed of ideas, announcements, referrals congratulatory enthusiasm and historical milestone time stamps.
Its a voice in conversations and participation in a community.
And (to me) it’s most importantly the actual place where your product or services reside – eg. “your platform”
This is why the fundamental battles going on right now – between the closed and open web – between net-neutrality and metered/tiered networks – between mega-media companies and independent artists and musicians is really (IMHO) the battle between good and bad.”
