The recession is going to get worse and worse. This is why Digital City Mechanics is focused on creating a system to create jobs. This is going to be a whole new category of effort – combining altruistic and for-profit – breaking down silos and ACTUALLY creating jobs – on a sustainable basis. Marc my words.
Lots of talk of working together in KC – now we get to see if they’ll fund some of the ideas in their “playbook”. I certainly wouldn’t go to an event with execs from Sprint of H&R Block talking about innovation! I love the idea of these folks THINKING about innovation and digital economy ecosystems – now we get to see if they’ll actually pay for anything!

Meanwhile Google has released their research on broadband and Internet usage in KC. They collected the facts – and have figured out that using the net – is important to the people of Kansas City. OK – so now what?
